My Camera Gear and Accessories

Hey 👋 Appreciate your interest in my blog! Drop a comment below and feel free to share any feedback, I’d love to hear from you.

Here's a rundown of all the camera gear, lenses, and accessories I pack for my hiking adventures.

Panasonic GH5

For my main camera, I use a Panasonic GH5. It is a great hybrid camera which I use for for both still photography and video work in a mix of weather conditions.

Some of its key highlights are:

  • 20 Megapixels

  • 4K Video recordings

  • Great autofocus

  • Two card slots which are great for heavy 4K recording days

LEICA 12-60mm F2.8 Lens

This lens is my top choice, ideal for both video and photography. With remarkable stabilisation, lightweight design, and compact size, it's a always on my camera. It's endured various weather conditions during my hikes and adventures, proving its reliability time and time again.

DJI Mini 4 Pro Drone

My drone accompanies me on every adventure, so having one weighing under 249g was essential, both for its portability and the freedom to fly it in a mix of locations.

The DJI Mini 4 Pro stands out as an excellent choice for both novice and experienced drone users. It conveniently folds up, fitting snugly into my bag or jacket pocket. A pro tip: always remember to bring ND filters for perfectly exposed shots.

With a decent 34 minutes of flight time and capable of shooting 4k video at 60 fps, it is the perfect solouion for getting unique shots.

It’s standout feature is its ability to capture vertical footage, ideal for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Short edits.

To avoid running out of power while shooting, consider investing in an official DJI spare battery. I own 4 of these and easily go through them all when out on an all day hike.
