Fairfield Horseshoe Walking Guide & Map

Old Man of Coniston
The Old Man of Coniston is a must-climb for anyone visiting the Lake District, offering breathtaking views and a memorable mountain experience. Standing at 803 metres (2,634 feet), this popular summit can be tackled in a day and is often combined with nearby peaks like Dow Crag and Swirl How for a longer adventure. Starting from Walna Scar Car Park, the route takes you through beautiful landscapes, including the rugged ridges of Brown Pike and Buck Pike, before reaching the iconic summit of Old Man of Coniston.
